Dogwood Miracle
A tough, deciduous shrub offering all year interest, Cornus alba Miracle PBR is a medium-sized, vigorous, deciduous shrub with an upright habit. The leaves emerge with a bright pink flush, which fades to a variegated cream and green; in autumn the leaves develop red tints that intensify as the season progresses, often becoming a deep purple-pink. At leaf-fall, bright red stems are revealed. Insignificant flowers are borne in May and June, sometimes followed by black berries. In March cut back established plants hard to within 2-3” of the base, and mulch with well-rotted manure or garden compost.
